Supporting teenagers and college age students in a culture that has changed so dramatically can be extremely disorienting.
I’ve worked with teens, young adults and their families who have struggled with the following issues:
- Transitioning from middle school to high school, and high school and college
- Social anxiety, panic disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Navigating cliques

- Low self-esteem
- Perfectionism
- Academic and organizational support
- Coping with procrastination
- Evaluating and treating depression, anxiety and panic attacks and various learning disabilities including ADHD
- Treating eating disorders including bulimia, binge eating disorder and other compulsive behaviors
- Self-destructive and addictive patterns of behavior
- Excessive computer gaming and video game addiction
- Establishing and sustaining positive relationships with family and friends
- Developing independence and healthy lifestyle choices in college
- Coping with their parents’ separation and divorce
The teenage years can present compelling challenges. It is often the hardest to support our children in becoming their best selves when their coping strategies are different from our own.
